We get it, because we've needed it too.
Sandhills Nanny Co. was started by a family that knows exactly what it feels like to hand your kids to someone and hope you chose right.
Families deserve better than crossing their fingers and hoping a stranger works out.
We're a husband-and-wife team who met in Bible college back in 2016, and these days we've got two boys of our own. So when we talk about how hard it is to find childcare you can truly trust, we're not saying it from the outside. We've lived it.
That's where Sandhills Nanny Co. comes from. It started in 2021 with one sitter-turned-nanny-turned-mom, a woman of faith, and a simple conviction: the person caring for your kids should be someone you'd choose with your eyes open, not someone you settled for because the search wore you down.
Today we place nannies across all of North Carolina, run an on-call sitter roster of more than 100 caregivers across the Sandhills, and work with Fort Bragg families every week. We're proud to be trusted with something this important.
So we built something better.
We take the time to understand your family: your routine, your values, the things that matter most. Then we match you with a caregiver who fits, not just one who's available. We handle the hard parts of the search so you don't have to, and we look for lasting matches, not quick fixes, because the last thing any family needs is a revolving door of new faces.
Here's the one thing we won't cut corners on: screening. When it comes to who's caring for your kids, thorough vetting isn't a nice-to-have. It's the whole point. It's the part we take most seriously, so you don't have to.
What we believe
Screening isn't optional.
Background, driving record, drug screen, social media, references, CPR, and an interview with our team. Every caregiver. Every time. Some agencies charge extra for parts of that; we don't think it's optional.
Caregivers are professionals.
We pay attention to how they're treated, and we expect families to as well. Fair pay, clear expectations, and legal payroll aren't perks. They're the baseline.
Honesty over the sale.
If you don't need a placement, we'll tell you. If we're not the right agency for you, we'll tell you that too. Our reputation is worth more than any one fee.
Local means local.
We live here, our kids are growing up here, and the families we serve are our neighbors. Word of mouth is the only marketing that has ever really worked for us, and we intend to keep it that way.
Meet the owner
Hi, I'm Abbey.
I was a sitter and a nanny before I was a mom, and a mom before I was an agency owner. So I've stood on both sides of the front door: the one walking in to care for someone else's kids, and the one handing mine over and hoping I'd chosen right.
I started Sandhills Nanny Co. because that second feeling shouldn't come down to hope. My husband Skyler and I are raising our two boys here in the Sandhills, and the standard for every caregiver we refer is simple: would I want this person for my own family?
